"DOHA • More chill and rains have been forecast for this morning. The mercury is expected to dip to seven degrees Celsius early today with rains expected to lash parts of Doha and the rest of the country at least until 10am, turning the chill more biting than yesterday, meteorologists said."
Thank you, Peninsula.

Also, seven degrees is pretty dang cold in a country with no heaters. Right now I'm huddled under a blanket with my cat. At least I'm not in Riyadh, which is getting below freezing at night, or in mountainous parts of the UAE, where it's *snowing*. wtf.

Humboldt County is not being lashed by rains. Sunny and windy. Hah!
However Pittsburgh is 28 low, 35 high- but does have heaters.

When you feel the cold there, just remember back in Pittsburgh it is 35 high and 28 low.

Our weather here is that Bill Clinton just blew in. He is speaking at Redwood Acres in about an hour. If you are around you can get the stream at KHUM.

Rains lashed Dubai for a week. Thanks goodness it's over!! The ponds are everywhere, and when I say ponds, I don't mean puddles. I mean ponds where the parked cars are completely submerged (poor owners!!).

Blame the Russians!
As some meteorologist here explained on Friday "A Siberian High [pressure zone] has taken over the entire Middle-East". Ever since that zero, president Bush, breezed through here two weeks ago, we've been having an unprecedented cold-snap, with single digit temperatures (Centigrade of course), throughout the country. At least ten have died of hypothermia! This, for the simple reason that most people don't even realize the cold CAN be deadly.

While cold fronts rolling in off of Siberia is a regular weather pattern here in the winter, this is really bad, what with complementary weather patterns moving up from the south, to keep this cold air in the same spot.
